The Black Tie Dinner was a GREAT success!
Grand Total of Donations to be announced soon...
Thanks for supporting education in Sudan.
In a nutshell the continent developed a drought and soon food and water became scarce. Because the drought began in the Northern Region, a group of militants assumed to be aided by the government began moving Southward, pillaging, and taking land that provided a better resource and economy than the drought stricken North.
The villagers, mostly African Christians found themselves forced to flee as refugees, leaving their homes and heritage behind in burning rubble.
People were murdered, women were raped, and the elderly tortured. These refugees now find themselves seeking hope.
The people of Darfur were proud and aristocratic within their farming villages. In the regions where they are now seeking success in rebuilding, typically refugee camps, they are craving something almost as much as food and water... It is education.
They want their children to be taught. The typical Sudanese child forced from his or her home learns to write using a stick and sand. Through a partnership with Seeds of Hope, SIM, and Forest Hill Church, we want to turn their sticks...to bricks.
We believe that knowledge is power. These people strongly desire that power, for it is that power that will allow them to design communities fortified from the inside out. Strengthened through western technology and hope in a faith they have held true to.
Will you join us for an evening of Hope... Will you help us turn Sticks into Bricks... We need you, the children of the Sudan need you!
